Wuhan is the capital of Hubei province,[3] China, and is the most populous city in Central China.[4] It lies in the eastern Jianghan Plain at the intersection of the middle reaches of the Yangtze and Han rivers. Wuhan is recognized as the political, economic, financial, cultural, educational and transportation center of central China.[4] The city of Wuhan, first termed as such in 1927, has a population of 10,607,700 people as of 2015.
There are 80 colleges and universities with 966.4 thousand undergraduates and junior college students, and 107.4 thousand postgraduate students.
