Changzhou 常州

Located on the southern bank of theYangtze River, Changzhou borders the provincial capital of Nanjing to the west, Zhenjiang to the northwest, Wuxi to the east, and the province of Zhejiang to the south.

The agglomeration is now part of the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou metropolitan area which has now more than 36,000,000 inhabitants, only second in China after the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone

Today it is an important industrial center for textiles, food processing, engineering (diesel engines, generators, transformers and other machinery), and high technology.

Yantai 烟台

Yantai is located in northeastern Shandong province,China. Located on the Bohai Strait and the southern coast of the Korea Bay, Yantai borders the cities of Qingdao and Weihai to the southwest and east respectively. It is the largest fishing seaport in Shandong. Its population was 6,968,202 at the 2010 census, of whom 2,227,733 lived in the built-up area.

It is the largest fishing seaport in Shandong.  Yantai is of strategic importance to China’s defence, as it and Dalian, directly across the Bohai Sea from it, are primary coastal guard points for Beijing.

Zhangjiakou 张家口

Zhangjiakou] also known by several other names, is a prefecture-level city in northwestern Hebei province in Northern China, bordering Beijing to the southeast, Inner Mongolia to the north and west and Shanxi to the southwest. At the 2010 census, its population was 4,345,485 inhabitants.

Due to its position on several important transport arteries, it is a critical transport node for travel between Hebei and Inner Mongolia and connecting northwest China, Mongolia, and Beijing.

Zhangjiakou will host some of the events at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Guangzhou 广州

Guangzhou is one of the major birthplaces of China’s ancient “maritime Silk Road”. Located on the Pearl River, about 120 km (75 mi) north-northwest of Hong Kong and 145 km (90 mi) north of Macau, Guangzhou serves as an important national transportation hub and trading port. It is one of the fiveNational Central Cities.

Guangzhou is the third largest Chinese city, after Beijing and Shanghai, and the largest city in South Central China. In 2014 the city’s administrative area was estimated to have a population of 13,080,500.
